What if my league doesn't use Centre Circle?

Not every league and competition currently uses Centre Circle to appoint referees.

If your league doesn't use the platform, don't worry - you can still receive appointments, develop as a referee and progress through the referee pathway.

How will I receive appointments?

Leagues that don't use Centre Circle will appoint referees using their own processes.

This may include:

• Email.
• Telephone.
• Text message or WhatsApp.
• A league-specific appointments system.

Your Referee Appointments Officer will let you know how appointments are managed.

Will this affect my progression?

No.

Your progression as a referee is based on your performances, commitment and meeting the relevant promotion criteria - not on whether your league uses Centre Circle.

Whether you're appointed through Centre Circle or another method, your matches can still contribute towards your development and promotion opportunities, however you must be on the pathway and you must manually add your games to Centre Circle.

Recording your experience

Although your appointments may not appear in Centre Circle, it's important to keep a record of your refereeing activity.

We recommend recording:

• The date of each fixture.
• The competition.
• The teams involved.
• Your role (Referee or Assistant Referee).
• Any observations or coaching visits received.

Keeping your own records can be particularly helpful when discussing your development, completing promotion applications or demonstrating your experience.

Can I still use Centre Circle?

Yes.

Even if your current league doesn't use Centre Circle, we recommend maintaining an active account.

Many other leagues and competitions across Sussex use the platform, allowing you to:

• Apply for additional fixtures.
• Increase your appointment opportunities.
• Manage your availability.
• Access appointments from multiple competitions in one place.
